About this work
Adam, who after the Fall had to till the earth, stands with a spade in his hand. To the right sits Eve under a shelter with her two sons. In the sky Death aims his arrow at Adam and Satan sits on a throne. In the landscape various consequences of the Fall are shown: murder, people indulging in drink and revelry, worship of the golden calf, shipwreck and war.
