About this work

Four representations. Top left: Faith, with a cross in hand, points two people to the heavenly Jerusalem where a narrow road leads to. Top right: Stephen is stoned, while Saul watches the cloaks. Bottom left: Faith, with a cross in hand, and Christ point a woman to the heavenly Jerusalem and the narrow road that leads there. Lady World and a man try to prevent her from it. Bottom right: the siege of a walled city, which represents the siege of the human heart. In the background the gate is stormed with a battering ram.
