About this work

The body of Christ is taken down from the cross by Nicodemus and Joseph, helped by two anonymous figures. Mary, Mary Magdalene and anonymous figures sit on the ground by the body of Christ. The crown of thorns lies in a basket. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin. Below that another inscription in Latin.
