About this work
Auto-da-fé in Valladolid, 21 May 1558. A procession of approximately thirty Protestants condemned to death by the Spanish Inquisition to a place outside the city where they are to be burned at the stake. In the center, a building with dignitaries; next to it, a wooden tribune where the heretics are condemned. The condemned wear a special headgear (capirote) and a mantle with a depiction of the mouth of hell. Reduced copy after the original contemporary representation on four sheets.
