About this work

A poet with a laurel wreath (possibly Orpheus) sits on a rock in the wilderness. Surrounding him are various animals, such as a snake, a rabbit, a ram, a bear, an elephant, and a unicorn. The poet points with his left hand towards the sun, whose rays descend upon him. The word 'casus' is written on the sun.
