About this work

Saul sitting on a throne in his palace. In front of him stands David playing his harp, causing the evil spirit, in the form of a fantasy creature, to fly away from Saul (1 Samuel 16:23). In the landscape in the background David saves a sheep from the jaws of a bear (1 Samuel 17:34).
