About this work
Mary appears to the kneeling Francesca of Rome and announces the end of the plague in Rome. Around Francesca lie victims of the disease. In the background left an angel with a sword who drives away the personification of the plague, a figure with snakes for hair who carries a victim of the plague over his shoulder.
