About this work

Ornamental border with a panel at the top containing eight Italian verses. Below, a scene from Canto X of Tasso's 'Jerusalem Delivered'. Ismeno and Soliman step out of a carriage. In the background, Jerusalem, and the dead bodies of soldiers in the landscape before the city where a battle has taken place. To the left, tent camps with soldiers.
