About this work

Ornamental border with a panel at the top containing eight Italian verses. Below, a scene from Canto XI of Tasso's 'Jerusalem Delivered'. Goffredo sits with a wounded leg in front of a tent. An angel gives herbs to the healer Eròtimo. In the background, the Christians storm the city walls of Jerusalem.
