About this work

Ornamental border with a panel at the top containing eight Italian verses. Below, a scene from Canto XII of Tasso's 'Jerusalem Delivered'. On the right, the kneeling Clorinda is baptized by a man standing beside his horse. In the foreground, the dead body of Clorinda, surrounded by soldiers. In the background, the Christian warriors attack Jerusalem.
