Apollo chases the fleeing Daphne. Apollo was struck by Cupid's golden arrow, which kindles love, and Daphne by Cupid's leaden arrow, which drives love away. In the background on the left the river god Peneus, the father of Daphne. On the right Apollo and Daphne during her metamorphosis into a laurel tree. Italian text in two columns in the lower margin.
