About this work

Allegorical representation of the season winter. Luna on a cloud to the left, symbolizes the long nights in winter. To the left a group of figures by a fire. The personification of the sea leans on a large fish and puts his other arm around a river god. In the background to the left Apollo on his sun chariot. To the right figures and putti in a tree together representing the struggles of an artist. In the background a tower of monkeys trying to obtain a bottle hanging in a trophy pole.
