About this work

The historical costumed procession of the students of the Leiden University held on 15 June 1875 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the University. The procession depicts the most famous men connected to the University. In the middle Minerva points to William of Orange at the procession passing the town hall. Around it eight historical scenes such as the Compromise of the Nobles (top left), the prize hunters / seven-guilder men (bottom left) and the Iconoclasm (top right).
