About this work
Mary sits reading with the Child on her lap in a hilly landscape. They are surrounded by eight small angels. Two angels hover above Mary and hold a crown. An angel gives the Christ Child an apple and on the ground two angels play on a drum and a lute. To the left rear a distant view is depicted with a city on a river.
