About this work

In a room a servant stands next to a wardrobe in which he stores his master's cloak. The edict of 1633 prohibited the wearing of too luxurious clothing. The servant wears a jacket decorated with bows, the sleeves of his shirt have wide, double cuffs and on his shoes are large rosettes. On the table lie the doublet and knee breeches of his master which, like the cloak, will be stored in the wardrobe.
