About this work
In the workshop the printing of etchings is demonstrated. The printer in the background rubs the ink onto the plate with a tampon. The man in front of the workbench 'strikes the plate off' with the palm of his hand. The clean plate, on which the ink now only remains in the fine grooves, is printed on the etching press.
