About this work
Saint Barbara is executed, at the rock where she had hidden, by her father Dioscurus. Barbara kneels while her father holds her hair aside to deliver the fatal blow with his sword. A cleric tries to dissuade him from his deed. A group of soldiers looks on in fright. Top right on two shields the electoral and ducal coat of arms of Saxony are depicted.
