About this work

Tobit sits in a chair next to the fireplace as from a bird's nest, hanging from the ceiling beams, bird droppings fall down. This gets into his eyes and the man becomes blind thereby. Next to Tobit stand his wife Anna and his son Tobias. In the margin above the image is the text Tobiae I & II [Tobit 2].
