About this work
The high priest Hilkiah stands to the right at a lectern and reads the laws to King Josiah who sits on a throne to the left in the temple. Behind the king stands the people and the priests of Judah and Jerusalem. Outside a fire burns in which all pagan sacrifices found in the temple are burned. In the margin above the image is the text IIII Regvm XXIII [2 Kings 23].
