About this work

The female personification of Faith (Fides), dressed as a nun, stands on the open tomb of Christ in a church. She points to the open Bible and to the dove of the Holy Spirit. On her head, the tablets of the law. In the church, the sacraments are administered (Mass, marriage, baptism, confession, Eucharist). Around the tomb lie the instruments of the Passion. Below the image, a two-line text in Latin.
