About this work

Vision of the cleric Joannes Chisius of Maciaretto. An angel points him to the crucified Christ who has appeared in the clouds. In the foreground a putto sits by an open coffin with a skull in his hands, the putto on the right holds a crown. In the background two putti carry the coat of arms of Pope Alexander VII and a burning torch. In the margin the same coat of arms and a five-line text in Latin.
