Representation of the river Nile overflowing its banks in Egypt and thus making the land fertile. Latin and French texts in letterpress above and below this print. This sheet is part of the emblem series 'Life of Mary in Emblems'. The first state of this series comprises, in addition to a title page and 26 emblems, three sheets with hymns to Mary in letterpress without images.
