About this work
A saint with a bow (Sebastian?), a saint with a crucifix (Francis of Assisi?) and a saint with a blooming lily kneeling before a cloth, held up by two angels, above which Christ appears in the clouds. This sheet is the title print for the emblem series 'Monastic Life in Emblems'. The second state of this series comprises, in addition to an illustrated title page and 26 emblems, another title page and a dedication sheet, both in letterpress without images.
