About this work
Allegory on the second centenary (1632-1832) of the Athenaeum Illustre in Amsterdam, celebrated 10-12 January 1832. Around a monument in honor of the University of Amsterdam, various personifications and the patroness of educational institutions, Minerva, are standing. On the pedestal, the crowned coat of arms of Amsterdam, in front of which various scientific attributes. Behind the monument, laurel wreaths are being held up. Father Time looks down from the sky.
