About this work

St. George, on a scaffold, surrounded by soldiers, men with torture instruments and spectators. In the foreground lies his clothing and above him, in the air, an angel, surrounded by putti, holds a laurel wreath and palm branch. Below the representation four lines of text in Latin and a handwritten Dutch inscription.
