The solemn ball of the European princes, 1742. Ball given by the Elector of Bavaria in a candlelit ballroom where Archduchess Maria Theresa dances with King Frederick of Prussia in the center. Theodor von Neuhoff, the King of Corsica, dances along in a harlequin costume. Other princes watch. Allegory on the War of the Austrian Succession.
