About this work
On the leg of Minerva rests an oval portrait of an unknown man. Her spear is crowned with the liberty cap. A woman to the left of Minerva carries seven bound arrows in her hand and is flanked by the Dutch lion. To the right a laurelled angel writes in a book, which rests on the back of Father Time. In the foreground two putti bind two burning hearts together. In the air putti play and an angel with coat of arms blows the trumpet.
