About this work

Hercules, with Cerberus on a chain, and Minerva point to the coat of arms of Wales of three crowned women. All three hold a scepter, crowned respectively with an orb, a lyre, and a pinecone. They kneel before the coat of arms and have brought a bag of money as a tribute. On the left in the foreground sits Strength on a broken column, holding a club and an olive branch.
