About this work

Allegorical title page with Thalia (with a trumpet) and the personification of the city of Amsterdam (with a beehive). They point to the background where people in costumes are dancing exuberantly. In the foreground Joan Pluimer, the director of the Amsterdam Schouwburg, who is threatened by Harlequin.
