Breach of the dike of the Sint-Antoniesdijk or Diemerzeedijk outside Amsterdam on 5 March 1651, caused by the high water level and the strong northwesterly storm. The water flows through the hole in the dike, with spectators in panic on both sides of the hole. In the background, the towers of Amsterdam.
