About this work
Dike breach of the Sint-Antoniesdijk or Diemerzeedijk outside Amsterdam on March 5, 1651, caused by the high water level and the strong northwester storm. The water flows through the hole in the dike, on both sides of the hole spectators in panic. In the background the towers of Amsterdam. Bottom left the first part of the legend A-C.
