About this work
Allegorical representation with Minerva and the personifications of the sciences. Chemistry makes a laurel wreath for the portrait bust of Louis XIV, who founded the Académie des Sciences in 1666. Botany and two other personifications carry the bust to a niche, in which portrait busts of deceased members of the Académie (numbered 1-9). In the sky Fame flies. She blows the trumpet. In the margin a three-line inscription and the legend in French.
