About this work

Sheet with four book illustrations depicting scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi. Respectively: Francis and another Franciscan react in surprise when a devil suddenly appears from a bag, Francis renounces his earthly possessions (he stands naked before the bishop and his father), an angel in the guise of a pilgrim holds the newborn Francis in his arms and Francis appears in heaven in a burning triumphal chariot.
