Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left newborn Christ worshipped by Mary and Joseph, top right Saint Stephen who is stoned, bottom left John the Evangelist with the eagle on the island of Patmos, bottom right the murder of all the little boys in Bethlehem. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
