About this work
Venus asks Jupiter for permission in the assembly of the gods to destroy Telemachus. Jupiter thrones together with his wife Juno on a cloud and listens to Venus. To the left Hercules watches surrounded by allegorical figures. Under the image in the margin is a two-line text, signed bottom right: Book IX.
