About this work
Christ before the Sanhedrin. He lies on the ground before the throne of the high priest Caiaphas and is bound with a rope held by two soldiers. Next to the throne, a man gives false testimony regarding Christ's deeds. One of the soldiers strikes Christ with a stick because he remains silent. The first print of an eight-print series on the Passion of Christ.
