About this work

The Bride of Christ (the Church) in a bed with a canopy. The canopy is supported by the cardinal virtues. At the foot of the bed a representation of the Judgment of Solomon. Above the head of the bride Christ in a cloud. Around the bed figures from the Old Testament. In the background through a doorway the Bride of Christ can be seen who is in the city looking for her beloved. The print has a Latin inscription about the Song of Solomon and is the third print of a six-print series.
