About this work
The church and pride stir intrigues and unrest. The Roman church incites the bishops of Münster, Cologne and Strasbourg and Wilhelm Egon von Fürstenberg to war. In the center the representation of the pride of the French king Louis XIV who has more crowns on his head than he can carry. To the right the prosperity of the Republic is viewed with envy. In the background Catholics forge bishop's staffs into weapons, to the right the bonds around the world are loosened.
