About this work

The Breton preacher and theologian Alanus de Rupe kneels in adoration before Mary. She wears a crown on her head and holds the Christ Child in her arms. Alanus holds a banner with the sign of the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary founded by him. From a cloud cherubs look on. Below the print, in Latin, a short description of the meaning of Alanus and his year and place of death.
