About this work

At the age of seven, Catherine had her first vision. Above the Dominican church in her hometown she saw Christ as pope on a throne with the apostles Paul and Peter and the evangelist John. Catherine is depicted playing with a friend. Above the church the figures float in a halo. Part of a series on Catherine of Siena consisting of a title print, a portrait, and 32 numbered scenes from her life.
