About this work

Herod and Herodias sit behind a set table under a canopy. Salome stands on the other side of the table and offers the head of John the Baptist on a platter to her parents. Behind them stands a servant before a loggia with trumpeters. Below the image is a two-line Latin text describing the scene from Mark 6.
