About this work
The interception of the Austrian imperial brig Louis, which intended to sail up the Scheldt, by the Dutch schooner Dolphijn under the command of Lieutenant Tobias Tak Cuperus, 8 October 1784. The Dutch ship fires a warning shot. The incidents of that day are referred to by the nickname the Cauldron War.
