About this work

Gijsbrecht II (or Gijsbert) of Amstel and the Count of Gelder, wounded during the Battle of Ane on 27 July 1227, are carried on stretchers to the chapter to cast their vote in the election of a new bishop as successor to Bishop Otto II, who was killed in the battle.
