About this work

Gijsbrecht II (or Gijsbert) of Amstel and the Count of Gelder, wounded during the Battle of Ane on July 27, 1227, are carried on stretchers to the chapter house to cast their votes in the election of a new bishop as successor to Bishop Otto II, who was killed in the battle. Design for a print.
