About this work
The jailer of Philippi attempts suicide when he notices the prison doors are open. He fears the prisoners have escaped. The apostle Paul and his companion Silas, however, have remained in the cell. Paul subsequently converts the jailer. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a 34-part series on the Acts of the Apostles.
