Venus and Cupid mourn the death of Adonis. Venus holds her beloved in her arms. Adonis' hunting weapons lie beside him on the ground. His hunting dogs sit at his feet. In the background Venus floating through the air in her triumphal chariot. The print bears a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the life of Adonis.
