About this work

A Canaanite woman throws herself before Christ and begs him to heal her daughter, who is tormented by a demon. His disciples ask Christ to send the woman away. At first he deigns not to look at the woman, but after being convinced of her faith he heals her daughter. Letters stand next to various elements in the scene corresponding to the legend in the margin.
