About this work

Capture of Helsingborg (Elsenburgh) from the Danes by the Swedish army, on 16 January 1677. In the foreground, horsemen, behind them soldiers firing at the fortress. On the sea to the left, two ships from which cannon fire is directed. In the middle above the image, probably a portrait of Charles XI of Sweden in a cartouche with an empty scroll below.
