In the center stands St. Augustine of Hippo. He wears a cowl over his Augustinian monk's habit and is flanked by two angels. On the left stands his mother, St. Monica, and on the right kneels St. Nicholas of Tolentino. Nicholas of Tolentino also wears an Augustinian monk's habit with a star, referring to the vision before his death. In front of him lie three small loaves as a reference to the miracle of the fever loaves. In the foreground to the left, some writings, a mitre, and a bishop's staff. All the saints look upwards, where Christ with the Holy Spirit sits enthroned on a cloud. He is surrounded by angels with various attributes, including a flaming sword, an eye on a staff, a ring biting its own tail (symbol of eternity), and an olive branch. In the margin, a three-line dedication in Latin.
