Historia sits enthroned on a stone altar. In her hands a book and a torch. Next to the blank space for the title of the book stand the personifications of War and Peace. Bottom left a river god symbolizing the Scheldt. Bottom right a woman with a city crown leaning on a lion. This is Belgica, the personification of the Southern Netherlands.
